Dr Karen Catchpole B.VSc. (Hons)
Karen brings to Careerline great experience and expertise in animal Science. Karen is a practicing vet and has worked in several practices over 10 years since graduating from Sydney University with first class honours. Karen continues to maintain active involvement in education in both professional development and in tutoring both vocational and university students. Karen's field of expertise is in internal animal medicine & surgery of cats & dogs.
Meg earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Animal Science and Agricultural Economics (Equine Science and Ranch Management concentrations) from New Mexico State University, and went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Equine Reproduction from Colorado State University. After several years in industry managing commercial beef cattle and custom horse breeding operations, Meg joined the faculty of a public charter high school (AAEC), as the Equine Science/Agriscience instructor.
During her ten years as a secondary agriculture teacher, Meg expanded AAEC’s equine curriculum into a progressive, multi-course Equine Studies Program in which students gained practical skills relevant to equine science careers, as well as broad-based knowledge in all areas of equine science including nutrition, herd health management, sports medicine, reproduction, evaluation, and industry. In conjunction with her teaching duties, Meg also advised the Student Horsemen’s Association, coordinated youth competitive and equine events, and coached several successful competitive youth horse judging teams.
Karin’s love and passion for animals stem from growing up on a farm in South Africa. After gaining her Veterinary Science degree she worked in mixed general practice while completing a master’s degree in Veterinary Parasitology.
Living and working in South Africa exposed Karin to a vast range of experiences in the clinical veterinary field: treating patients ranging from marmoset monkeys to lions to the everyday cat, dog or horse. Two years as a Laboratory Vet resulted in helping farmers tackling livestock health problems in a variety of farm production systems. Since her move to Western Australia with her family, Karin has been working in a small animal practice.
During her 20 years as a vet, she has been involved in several research projects and the tutoring of students in various fields of animal science. She enjoys mentoring students and sharing her knowledge and she loves helping students flourish and realise their full potential.
BUSINESS, EVENTS, & BOOKKEEPING
With over a decade of hospitiality experience at all levels from recreation to resort General Manager, combined with both a love of education and business, Thea is a very welcome addition to Careerline Courses. Thea is actively involved in continuing professional development in both hospitality and business as well persuing her interest in the education of children on the Austism Spectrum.

Karen Gail Ibanez, M.A. Clinical Psychology, B.Sc. Psychology
In 2007, Karen Gail worked as a psychometrician where she administered and interpreted psychological tests in a private neuro-psychiatric clinic and was promoted to junior psychologist after two years where her role changed to psychological assessment and evaluation.By 2009, she started giving training and seminars to affiliate companies of the clinic that she worked for. By 2011, she was promoted again as an assistant psychologist and started with the counseling practice which is one of the clinic's services. Most of clients she had was for anger management, career counseling as well as family counseling. She resigned from the clinic after eight years but was asked to serve as the clinic's consultant.
Orlando Luminere - Luminere Imaging
Orlando brings experience, expertise and creativity to Careerline's photography courses. He is the owner of Luminere Imaging which focuses on commercial photography as well exhibiting his own landscape photography work. As well as this Orlando is also an experienced tutor having helped many students gain the confidence to develop their creativity and technical ability in photography.
WRITING, PUBLISHING, & JOURNALISM
Robert N. Stephenson is a published author of 5 books and the publisher of 25 books for other authors through his publishing imprint. Over his career thus far he has had over 100 short stories published in 10 countries and a number of languages. For fourteen years he also worked as a literary agent for his own agency where he represented such authors as Tony Shillitoe and Christy Jordan. As a tutor he has worked with over 1500 students in the last 10 years and a number of which have gone on to develop careeers in writing.
Besides wining awards for his own writing he is also the runner up in the 2008 Pride of Australia Medal for his contributions to the development of writing in others. Robert ran Altair Magazine for seven issues before it stopped production b ut during this time he discovered several new writers who have gone on to do great things both in Australia and in the USA. As he says, writing is a journey and a conversation with a reader, may we learn to create together.
Lucinda brings to Careerline great experience and expertise in Writing. She have been writing since a teenager with varying levels of success. She is a professional teacher having been teaching for 26 years and is currently employed working with adults. She teaches Writing for Publication, Creative Writing and Literacy and do examination marking as well as glorying in the title of supervising editor of a small community newspaper.
She had some excellent overseas work experience in Greece, Turkey and Poland starting out as an English language teacher and progressed to become part of a teacher training team in a college in southern Poland.
As a teacher of writing, many of her former students have found publishing success, either as freelance writers or writing their own articles or books and many have won competitions or awards.
She enjoys teaching and mentoring students and satisfies to see students flourish and realise their potential. She finds herself as enthusiastic and sometimes a little strict as a tutor.
Jodie Walpole Bachelor of Applied Science (Food & Nutrition), Advanced Practitioner in Life Coaching
Jodie is a qualified Nutritionist and Advanced Practitioner in Life Coaching.
Jodie brings to Careerline over 15 years corporate nutrition and health experience as a result of working for several large multinational food and beverage companies. Jodie is passionate about all aspects of nutrition, health and wellness with particular interest in weight management and childhood obesity.
More recently Jodie completed her Advanced Practitioner of Life Coaching course and is a certified Life Coach with hours of practical experience. As a Life Coach Jodie enjoys working with clients to close the gap between where they are currently in their lives and where they want to be.
Jodie is also an experienced tutor enjoying the challenge of working with students to reach their full potential. Jodie is a welcome addition to the Careerline team.
Julie Crowe Dip. Expercise Science & Fitness Mgt
Julie is Diabetes Accredited and has a Diploma of Exercise Science and Fitness Management. She is qualified in Sports Medicine in Children & Adolescence and is a qualified Level 1 Sports Coach (Squash) with Australian Sports Commission.
Julie has over 25 Years experience in the industry specialising in: Resistance Training, Nutrition, Sports Training, Rehabilitation, Cardiovascular, Sports Performance Nutrition, Fat Loss, Older Populations, Children & Adolescence and Diabetes.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND CONSERVATION
Abraham has worked for 15 years as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the "Arid Zones and Ecology Research Center" (CIEZA) of a university in Venezuela (South America). He specialized in wildlife survey and monitoring, employing several methods such as trapping/netting and marking/recapture (including radio-tracking) of frogs and mammals. His research was focused on the taxonomy and natural history of amphibians and reptiles. He also coordinated in teaching two subjects, the "Ecology and Wildlife" for second semester undergraduate students and "Pre-Professional Practice" which is an elective subject for students from the seventh semester onwards. He is involbed in a number of projects doing vegetation assessments and surveys. In Australia, he worked at Griffith University for 3 years as a Laboratory Demonstrator on the subjects “Zoology” and “Vertebrate Biology” (and tutored classes the latter). Since 2011, Abraham has been working in the Conservation and Land Management business, mainly as “Fauna Spotter/Catcher”. He's also a “Wildlife Ecologist” within some private companies and “Natural Restoration Contractor” with the Gold Coast City Council (QLD). He manages his own consultancy company on ecological and wildlife management.
AGRICULTURE, PERMACULTURE & HORTICULTURE
Karen Huntley MSc Marketing Management (Food Related Industries), PDC, PG Dip Organic Farming, Cert Marketing, BA. Professional Development Diploma in Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (Coventry University/Thrive, UK)
Karen has a strong background and passion for organic food production systems, nutrition and community agriculture. Karen also has experience and training in Permaculture (PDC), horticultural therapy, community organic enterprises as well as being an experienced bee keeper.
Jennifer is a Horticulturist and Entomologist, with fifteen years experience in the nursery industry and six years in agricultural entomology. She has published three research papers in peer reviewed journals. Jennifer has extensive experience in teaching undergraduate university students across the plant sciences - agriculture, entomology, botany, biology, microbiology and biometry.
Even when off-duty, Jennifer’s obsession for plants and insects is evident. A bushwalk, or a walk with the dog, is not just about exercising outside, it is also an opportunity to examine nature and sometimes to photograph it! Jennifer’s other hobby is learning Spanish, which will assist her to explore plants and insects of Spain and Latin America.
Barbara Tremain BSc. (Hons) Horticulture, RHS Adv. Cert,. RHS General, City & Guilds Garden Design, Permaculture Level 3 (UK)
Barbara brings to Careerline a wide range of horticultural experience and knowledge Barbara has a keen interest in herbalism, edible wild plants and has lead into studies of many plant based complementary medicinal systems, qualification as a Bach Flower remedy practitioner and studying Ethnobotany. Barbara has practiced and studied horticulture as well as combining it with her love of travel in many countries including the UK, US and Australia and has also studied Permaculture and runs her own horticulture business. Within the past two years she have also worked for Groundwork SW with 18-24 year old unemployed people, this work and the mentoring scheme has allowed me to teach informally. It has been a delight to nurture the interests of keen learners in horticulture and garden design. Meanwhile the business has covered a variety of Garden Design projects, from wildflower gardens to seaside situations, and has included some work with Chelsea Gold multi-winner John Moreland.
Norman Khershberg, M.A. Information Technology (Database & Business Intelligence)
Norman has been working with Unix / Linux / MS technologies since 1989 and has previously taught at RMIT. Norman enjoys Open Source technologies and brings to careerline vast experience in programming and IT in general.
